I love that it is close to downtown, Eastern Market, Dequindre Cut, RiverWalk, all while offering the respite and tranquility of a beautiful urban park. What I enjoy about Lafayette Towers is the historic architectural design, the floor to ceiling windows, apartment size and layout, workout facility, amazing roof deck and pool, and of course -- the VIEW

The only issue is the heating and cooling during those trying times when the weather is not cooperative. Otherwise two thumbs up.

submitted by Benjamin V. - |Recommended: YesFriendly staff, great view and layout. — I live in a studio apartment on an upper-level of the building that has a great view of downtown Detroit. I really got lucky with the apartment I obtained. When moving in, there was a little time-crunch completing the paperwork and finishing moving all of my furniture via the service elevator. When we had scheduled our time slot for reserving the service elevator, we were told that the paperwork signing would not take very long, so a 2-hour slot for paperwork, tour, and moving in would be plenty. This was not the case, as we were very rushed to complete the process. Also, upon touring the apartment with the manager and moving in, a list was made of things that needed to be fixed in the unit. Only 2 of the 12 items on the list have been addressed in the month that I have been here, and I have gotten very few responses from the managers as to when these items will be addressed. Other than those items, things seemed to go smoothly, and all interactions with the grounds staff, maintenance workers, and security personnel have been pleasant. There is a nice grocery store within walking distance, as well as a few restaurants.
